Zanzibar is an African island that lies in the Indian Ocean about 40 km off the mainland of Tanzania. Zanzibar includes the main island, Unguja, and its sister island, Pemba and is also known as ‘the spice Island’. It lures tourist with its coconut palms swaying in the tropical breeze and its stunning white sandy beaches. There is also an abundance of coral reefs surrounding the island. It is easy to get to Zanzibar from the mainland by both air and sea.
